Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England - 17/02/17

Sheffield: is a city in South Yorkshire, England. Its name derives from the River Sheaf, which runs through the city. Interesting fact: Sheffield is only the third English district by population and still brought many influential people to the world, like the actor Sean Bean (Boromir in TLOTR and Ned in GOT). It is also the city that birthed Def Leppard, Arctic Monkeys 65daysofstatic, Pulp, Bring Me the Horizon and many other great bands!

During the Industrial Revolution, Sheffield developed its expertise in steel production. Being known as the Steel City. Many innovations were developed here, including crucible and stainless steel.

We keep walking and walking together, and our potential keeps growing larger. We arrive in Sheffield on the 8th day of the journey, with more people than before.

There's plenty to see! All these places are very close to each other in the city center. Right now we just arrived at Crucible Theater at Norfolk street.

Besides theatrical plays, this theater is known for its sports events such as Table Tennis and Squash. It hosts the most prestigious event in professional snooker, the World Championship. (To the right is Lyceum Theater)

This is another perspective from Sheaf Square. The railway station is right next to it, so are other major buildings in the city center; the Showroom Cinema featured in a Arctic Monkeys Videoclip - Arctic Monkeys- Leave Before The Lights Come On, Sheffield Science Park, and a Hotel.

This is Sheffield Railway Station seen from Sheaf Square. This is the main entrance and the location of most of the station's facilities

Wheel of Sheffield, unfortunately we didn't arrive in time to board the wheel, which is now located in London's Hyde Park, it was a temporary attraction from July 2009 to 31st October 2010. (if anyone reading this has more information about this bring it out or pm Metalefs) --

Meadowhall center is the largest in Yorkshire, it was opened on 4 September 1990 with a floor area of 139,355 m²(1,500,005 sq ft). Meadowhall has over 280 stores in a very disputed space. The site is 4 miles from the Railway Station. Meadowhall is the only shopping centre in the UK that combines a bus, rail and tram interchange as well as making the centre accessible to both the local region and the rest of the country.

This is Park Hill. The concept of this building is is very interesting and unique, it was envisioned as a postwar Utopian housing with "communities inside communities" and it's resolution inspired many other similar buildings, however with the spike in criminality and a city crisis, it became enviable, until a renovation project started in 2009. Inside the building were apartments and all sorts of shops, today it still has many residents and has become an Icon for the city. A BBC documentary on Park Hill, it's really worth a watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuVQ7LsAfGM
